About me and my content

I’ve been creating graphics and websites for a long time. The Art & Design page on this site has some examples of the content that I have created over the years. And with my interest in gaming and technology along with the recent growth in streaming video from sites such as YouTube.com I decided to try my hand at creating videos too. Its been a learning experience and there’s always something new to figure out.

My main YouTube channel Davy Jones is focused on simulation racing games. And some of my most popular videos are detailed video tutorials on some of the available titles. After publishing some videos on how to get started with rFactor 2, the simulation platform for the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual. The developers added my name to the credits that appear upon exiting the game. I enjoy the technical challenge of creating these videos, mixing footage with audio while trying to improve the quality as I go.

And as part of my interest in gaming and being the father of two children I wanted to learn more about Minecraft. In particular the original version of the game on PC. So I’ve spent endless hours learning how to install modifications and setup multiplayer servers. My latest adventure was setting up modified Minecraft servers on Linux virtual machines using Bukkit, Spigot and Paper. And if all that sounds confusing believe you me it is. Not to mention the other version of the game Bedrock which supports NVIDIA's RTX for ray tracing etc. And after all that I setup a second YouTube channel GrumpoMC that I created with my children in order to learn how to play the actual game.
